Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that you are all safe and well.
I am writing to you because we have had to make changes to our plans for the wider reopening of our school.
I am very disappointed to say that it is no longer possible for us to open as widely as we had previously planned. I trust that that you understand that this is not a decision taken lightly, but rather one made taking into account the most recent available information regarding Coronavirus.
We have decided with Governors, that we are able to extend our childcare provision on the Wellingborough site only. This will be offered to children who have Social Workers, whose parents are Keyworkers, and those who are subject to formal support plans from both sites. Senior leaders have considered individual risk assessments. This provision has been open since the school closed in March.
We have been working hard to improve our online offer to all children, and your child’s teacher will be in touch next week with more information. I would like to remind you of the information on the school website, under the Children’s Area tab, where you can find links to activities and ideas. The website is www.rowangateprimary.co.uk
If you have any questions for your child’s teacher, you are welcome to contact any member of the Senior Leadership Team:
for queries relating to children usually based at Rowan Gate East or queries relating to Children who are Looked After or have been Looked After.
for queries relating to children in Early Years Foundation Stage classes from either site.
for queries relating to children in Years 3 and 4 from either site
for queries relating to children from both sites in Years 5 and 6, and any transition to secondary schools queries.
for welfare queries, safeguarding information or queries relating to children in Years 1 and 2 from either site.
You are also welcome to contact me if you would like to do so, my email address is
I understand that this is a difficult and frustrating situation for you, please be assured that we are doing our very best to support children and families during this very difficult time.
Kind regards
Laura Clarke
