Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to let you know how our school will be responding to the Government request to make childcare arrangements for some children during this Coronavirus period.
We have had to make some very difficult decisions, and have started with the advice that ‘the majority of children will be safer at home’. Many of you have decided to shield your child from the virus by doing this, and we are supporting your decisions. You do not need to be worried about attendance monitoring.
Our school will be closed to ALL CHILDREN AND STAFF NEXT WEEK. This is to enable us to undertake chemical deep cleaning of the schools.
From 30th March, we will open childcare facilities to parents who are in the category of KEYWORKERS ONLY. You will have been called today to establish if you fall into this category.
The childcare will open on the Wellingborough site only and if you wish to use the facility, you will be able to drop your child off at 9am, collecting again at 3pm. At this stage it has not been possible to organise transport.
From 6th April, we will open childcare facilities to a slightly larger group of children. You will be contacted during the week beginning 30th March to organise this if it has been agreed today. It is important to understand that this is not an education based facility – our aim is for the children who are here to be having fun and enjoying their time here. They will not be in their usual classrooms or with the same staff.
The children in receipt of Free School Meals will receive vouchers for you to spend as you wish. This does not apply to children in receipt of Universal Infant Free School Meals- it is only for families who are eligible due to financial circumstances.
I am sure that you will appreciate that this is an extraordinary time, and that we are all feeling anxious. I trust that you will understand that we have based our response on the safety and well-being of our pupils and families.
I will be available to answer any questions on my email address –
I would like to thank the wonderful staff for their dedication and support to enable us to keep going, and provide services to our pupils.
I send you all my very best wishes,
Laura Clarke
