We have places for 120 children from 3 years to 11 years old; pupils may join the school at any age as appropriate. We are a day special school for children who have learning difficulties which may be moderate, severe or profound and multiple. We also have provision for children with autism and children with a visual or hearing impairment. The children who come to Rowan Gate are generally from Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire.
Children are normally admitted at the beginning of the school year, unless there are particular circumstances. Admission is following referral from the Special Needs Assessment Panel who are based at the Statutory SEN Team, William Knibb Centre, Kettering. All children are the subject of a Statement of Special Educational Need, except where, in very rare circumstances, the panel requests that Assessment takes place at the school.
