A team of 2 girls and 4 boys from Cherries class competed in the Sainsbury’s School Games Level 2, Tag Rugby competition, at Wellingborough Rugby Club.
Tag Rugby is the non-contact version of rugby and encourages the players to run, evade and pass in order to score.
After some time for practice, Rowan Gate played matches versus Freemans Primary School, Windmill Primary School and Croyland Primary School.
It was the first time Rowan Gate had taken part in a Tag Rugby competition and all of the team played some great rugby, worked very hard and showed great team spirit and sportsmanship.
After all the results had come in, Rowan Gate finished joint 3rd.
Congratulations to the winners – Croyland Primary School.
We are delighted to advise that Rowan Gate Primary School East has opened at the Hayway, Rushden.
Mrs Laura Clarke will continue to be the Head Teacher on both sites, working at both locations each week.
Mrs Julia Coles, Deputy Head will be based at Rushden overseeing day to day and will be supported by Mrs Sue Morris.
Mrs Carol Whiting will be based at Wellingborough overseeing day to day and will be supported by Mrs Maxine Hill.
Currently 3 classes have moved to Rushden – Apricots, Peaches and Limes class (which has been split in two so that children who live in East Northants are in Rushden)
Parents of children that have moved will be invited to the school to look around and see how the children have settled in the coming weeks.
We intend to hold an official opening of the school in September 2015 and this will be publicised to all stakeholders soon
